Statement by Nikola Jovic in English

My name is Nikola Jović. I posted a video on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59pnQ4iofes) two weeks ago which shows a victim being tortured by Serbian police. This story received a lot of attention in Serbia but since then, the incident remains unresolved.

After posting the video, however, I have been under siege by the police. Despite not doing anything illegal, I was arrested twice and my personal computer was confiscated. I simply reported this as an incident of racial-based torture by the police to the proper authories. Unfortunately, this is an everyday reality.

I fear that if I am taken into custody, there will be no one to report this type of torture again, and that the perpetrators will continue to do what are they doing at the police stations.

If you can assist me in any way and inform others of this incident, it would help me a lot.
